Wrap yourself in the softness of silk and the beauty of nature! This scarf was hand dyed using all natural plant dyes and real leaves. Colors are permanent and it will be a beautiful wearable art piece for years to come.

The background of this scarf is silver with just a hint of pale pink and was dyed using natural dyes. This silk scarf has prints of leafy sumac branches in chartreuse green. They are surrounded by light green and gray prints made from maple and smokebush leaves. Lastly, clusters of smokebush stems made green prints, adding a geometric element to the design. The prints of leaves and stems are made from the pigments right in the plants - no synthetic colors were added. Colors are permanent and this scarf is hand washable.

To make this one of a kind scarf, real leaves were gathered and bundled with the fabric. Through an eco-friendly process, the natural pigments in the leaves were permanently transferred to the silk fabric. This process of printing with leaves is called "eco printing" or "botanical printing." No synthetic inks, dyes or pigments are used. The fabric of this scarf is luxurious silk charmeuse. It is a mid-weight silk with a lovely drape. The front side has a beautiful sheen while the reverse is matte. Coloring shows through on both sides, though the leaf prints are strongest on the front. It looks beautiful no matter how the fabric is gathered or folded!

You will receive the exact scarf shown in the photos.

Size: 11 X 60 inches (28 X 152 cm)
Materials: 100% silk

Care & Handling:
- Gently hand wash
- Use mild soap
- No tumble dry. Hang or lay flat to dry.
- Iron using silk settings
- Do not dry clean

Eco-Printing requires the application of heat and pressure to fabric, often resulting in a more textured appearance of the fabric. While small wrinkles in the fabric may ease over time, they are a semi-permanent feature of the eco-printing process.
