Naturally Dyed Botanical Print Silk Scarf
Wrap yourself in the softness of silk and the beauty of nature! This scarf was hand dyed using all natural plant dyes and real leaves. Colors are permanent and it will be a beautiful wearable art piece for years to come.
The background of this scarf is blush pink and was dyed using natural dyes. This silk scarf has prints of leafy sumac branches in bright yellow. They are surrounded by maple and smokebush leaf prints in shades of pink, yellow and gray-blue. Lastly, clusters of smokebush stems made yellow-green prints, adding a geometric element to the design.
The prints of leaves and stems are made from the pigments right in the plants and they blended on the fabric with the underlying pink dye - no synthetic colors were added. Colors are permanent and this scarf is hand washable.
To make this one of a kind scarf, real leaves were gathered and bundled with the fabric. Through an eco-friendly process, the natural pigments in the leaves were permanently transferred to the silk fabric. This process of printing with leaves is called "eco printing" or "botanical printing." No synthetic inks, dyes or pigments are used.
