Light Pink Silk Embroidery Floss, Cochineal Dye
Take your stitching to the next level with this beautiful, plant dyed silk floss! It is made from ahimsa, or peace silk, which means that no silkworms were harmed in the collection of silk from their cocoons. It is shiny and made of three loosely plied strands, perfect for stitching all together, or separating to create fine stitches using just one or two strands.
This silk embroidery floss was hand dyed by myself using natural cochineal dye. Cochineal is a natural dye that has been used for centuries and is incredibly colorfast. The coloring of this embroidery floss may have some slight variations, giving depth and interest to your stitching. It is the lighter of the two pinks shows in the group photos.
This is for one 10 yard (9.15 m) skein of pink floss. The last photo shows a skein of another color for scale.
Each strand of this floss is similar to the thickness of a single strand of DMC cotton embroidery floss. This means that stitching with all three strands of this peace silk floss is similar to stitching with three strands of DMC floss.
