Japanese Indigo Seeds (Persicaria tinctoria)
(Persicaria tinctoria)
Grow your own blue dye!
These plants grow best in partial shade to full sun. Start indoors and transplant after the danger of frost has passed.
You can harvest leaves for dye several times throughout the growing season as they regrow quickly when cut back.
Each packet is 1 gram and contains approximately 250 seeds. Seeds are winnowed by hand so there may be some plant matter in with them.
These seeds were harvested from my 2024 plants, grown with organic methods. They will have an excellent germination rate when planted in 2025 My germination tests showed over 90% germination rates.
