Gray and Red Silk Scarf, Eco Print Eucalyptus Leaf Design
This elegant silk scarf has been dyed with natural plant dyes and printed with the natural pigments of real eucalyptus leaves. The silk is buttery soft and the eco friendly dyes are permanent and washable. It is a unique and wearable piece of art!
Real leaves are gathered and bundled with the fabric making each scarf completely one of a kind. This silk scarf has been printed with eucalyptus leaves, creating a graphic pattern of red-orange leaf prints. They are created in an environmentally friendly process known as "eco printing" or "botanical dyeing." No synthetic inks, dyes or pigments are used. The edges of the scarf are dark gray with warm undertones. It was dyed with a variety of plant dyes, mixed to create this beautiful, dark color. I rolled the fabric before dyeing it so the dye only permeated the edges, and did so in a way that left swirls of variegated color behind. The short ends have narrow white stripes left from the string I tied the bundle with. It is truly one-of-a-kind!
The fabric of this scarf is luxurious silk charmeuse. It is a mid-weight silk with a lovely drape. The front side has a beautiful sheen while the reverse is matte. Coloring shows through on both sides, though the leaf prints are strongest on the front. It looks beautiful no matter how the fabric is gathered or folded! You will receive the exact scarf shown in the photos.

Eco-Printing requires the application of heat and pressure to fabric, often resulting in a more textured appearance of the fabric. While small wrinkles in the fabric may ease over time, they are a semi-permanent feature of the eco-printing process.
