Date: Saturday, February 22
Time: 1 - 3:30
Location: Milwaukie Community Club, 10666 SE 42nd Ave, Milwaukie, OR 97222

Learn to dye a beautiful skein of yarn and a silk bandana using all natural dyes! In this fun workshop, I will introduce you to numerous natural dyes and show you how to use them in unique combinations to create stunning, sustainable color. You will learn how to prepare yarn for dyeing, what makes a dye, and how to create permanent color that won’t fade or bleed.

In this bundle dye method you can choose which which flowers, bark, roots, and other natural materials to add to your yarn to create the color palette you desire. You will also learn how to manipulate the dye materials used so you can create the look you want - a lightly speckled yarn or a skein with more saturated color.

To keep the dye materials in contact with the yarn during the dyeing process you will wrap it with a silk bandana, creating a beautiful accessory that will match your yarn!

Kids age 12 and up are welcome to attend but must have an adult stay with them.

Your registration includes:

  • One 21 inch square silk bandana

  • One skein of wool yarn. Please choose between these two options at checkout
